Chloe Cherry is speaking out about the buzz around Euphoria Season 3, and she’s not holding back on Cassie’s OnlyFans storyline. The actress, who plays Faye Valentine and used to work as an adult film star and OnlyFans creator herself before joining the HBO show, says the plot feels “crazy as fuck.” She finds it hard to believe that someone from Cassie’s privileged background would turn to that kind of work, especially when Sydney Sweeney — one of the sexiest actresses working today — brings the character to life.
Episode 2 of #Euphoria just dropped and @Chloe Cherry weighs in with her take, saying the only reason OF has become more normalized is “because of capitalism and the economy getting worse, it has nothing to do with empowerment or power.”
Cherry told Refinery29 that all the talk about sex work being super empowering is mostly “smoke and mirrors.” She doesn’t really get what people are even doing on OnlyFans and thinks the big money stories people share are often exaggerated. Even though Cassie is extremely attractive and could probably earn a lot, Cherry still sees the whole idea as wild for a character like her.
What surprises Cherry most is how she ended up on a mainstream show like Euphoria in the first place. She says her casting “has nothing to do with empowerment” but is really just about the current state of capitalism. You can catch her back as Faye when Season 3 of Euphoria airs Sundays at 9pm ET/PT on HBO.
